How to Make Your Manicure Last 3+ Weeks
March 15, 2026 3 min read
1. Hydrate your cuticles daily
A drop of cuticle oil morning and night keeps your nail bed flexible and prevents lifting at the edges. We sell our favorite oils at the front desk.
2. Wear gloves for chores
Hot water, dish soap, and cleaning sprays are the #1 cause of early chips. A $3 pair of rubber gloves can buy you another week.
3. Don't use your nails as tools
Opening cans, scratching stickers, picking labels — these tiny shocks crack the seal between gel and nail.
4. Book your fill on time
For acrylics and Gel-X, fills every 2–3 weeks keep the apex strong and prevent breakage. Past 4 weeks, you risk lifting and bacteria growth.
5. Come back to a pro for removal
Picking off gel takes layers of your natural nail with it. Pop in — soak-offs are quick and gentle on your natural nail.
