How Often Should You Get a Manicure or Pedicure? A Simple Schedule

October 5, 2026 4 min read

Clients ask us this constantly: how often should I actually come in? The answer depends on what's on your nails and how hard you are on them. Here's the schedule we recommend at Heaven Nails & Spa.

If you wear enhancements (acrylic, Gel-X, dip, builder gel)

  • Fills: every 2 to 3 weeks. Beyond that, the gap between your cuticle and the product gets long enough that the balance shifts and the set can lift or snap.
  • Full new set: every 3 to 4 fill cycles, or sooner if you love changing shape or length.
  • Waiting too long doesn't save money — a neglected set often needs a repair or rebuild, which costs more than the fill you skipped.

If you wear gel polish on natural nails

  • Gel manicure: every 2 to 3 weeks. Gel stays glossy that long on most hands; after week three, growth shows at the cuticle even if the color is fine.
  • Let us soak off the old gel properly — picking it off peels layers of your natural nail with it.

Pedicures

  • Every 4 to 6 weeks for most people. Toenails grow slower, and one good pedicure keeps cuticles, calluses and heels in shape for about a month.
  • Every 2 to 3 weeks if you're on your feet all day, wear closed shoes daily, or battle calluses and dry heels. Our Premium and Heaven pedicures are built for that routine.
  • Sandals season or not, consistent pedicures prevent ingrowns and cracked heels far better than a one-off rescue visit before an event.

Between visits

  • Oil your cuticles daily — the single cheapest way to stretch any service.
  • Gloves for dishes and cleaning products.
  • Never use your nails as tools; that's the number-one cause of lifted acrylics and snapped Gel-X.
  • Moisturize feet at night and wear socks to bed if your heels are dry.

The easy version

Book a standing rhythm — a fill every other week and a pedicure once a month — and your nails never hit the "emergency" state. [Book your next appointment](/booking) online, or call us at (336) 377-7007 and we'll get you on the schedule.
